2018-10-07 — Former Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore fights back!

2018-10-06 — Congratulations Justice Kavanaugh.

2018-10-03 — This is how you fight back against libel and slander of the mainstream media. Judge Kavanaugh, please take note.

2018-10-02 — Liberals fall; Quebec turns to the right.

2018-09-15 — Happy 78th anniversary of the Battle of Britain! Listen to Winston Churchill's personal account of the battle.

Here is a study that blows a gaping hole in the entire LGBTQ narrative. Far from being "inborn" or "discovered," the study shows that so-called "gender dysphoria" among adolescents and young adults is mostly the result of social media and peer pressure. What is appalling is how physicians are instructed not to even remotely suggest this. The adolescents are the medical professionals now. The proverbial inmates are running the asylum. This paper was censored by ultra-politically correct Brown University five days after it was published. So much for academic freedom — sad! Great credit goes to Dr. Littman for her courage to publish this paper in light of the storm of hate and criticism which will now inevitably follow.

2018-09-09 — So U.S. Senator Ben Sasse would help to throw away a conservative majority in the Senate because there's "just a lot of chaos and a lot of reality-TV circus" in dealing with the White House? So what? For being the smart guy that I thought he was, this is pretty dumb. The party of Lincoln existed long before Donald Trump, and it will exist long after Donald Trump.

2018-09-06 — Liberals never fail to refer to a decision that they like (e.g. Roe v. Wade) as "settled law," but when was the last time liberals referred to a decision conservatives like (e.g. Heller, Citizens United, etc.) as "settled law?" Kavanaugh is correct. "Settled law" is simply a label that liberals slap on decisions that they don't want overturned, lest it upset their own political agenda. Nothing is truly "settled law" at the Supreme Court because the Court can — and does — overturn its own precedents, the classic example being Plessy v. Ferguson in 1896 which was later overturned by Brown vs. Board of Education in 1954.

U.S. Senator Ben Sasse (R-NE) did a very good 10 minute talk on civics and government for his opening statement. People ought to listen to this before making silly comments about this issue.

Supreme Court Justice nominations should not be "hardball," they shouldn't be all-out war." Not too many years ago, in a simpler time, Ruth Bader Ginsburg was confirmed 96-3. Senator Sasse wisely notes that the dysfunction in our political system can be seen in the fact that protests of socio-cultural issues (abortion, guns, etc.) often take place on the steps of the Supreme Court building rather than at the Capitol building. This is because, he argues, the Legislative branch has given away too much power to un-elected Executive branch agencies. Why? Because Congress doesn't have the guts to take real stands (i.e. pass laws) on controversial issues. Because Congress won't pass law, the Supreme Court ends up being the battleground for social debate.

Justice Gorsuch, before he became a Supreme Court justice, wrote that "American liberals have become addicted to the courtroom, relying on judges and lawyers rather than elected leaders and the ballot box, as the primary means of effecting their social agenda...this overweening addiction to the courtroom as the place to debate social policy is bad for the country and bad for the judiciary."

So this issue runs much deeper than superficial assertions like "that's why a Democratic politician should never play nice with Republicans again" would lead us to believe. The acrimony over Supreme Court Justices is a product of many years of Congressional responsibility-shifting and the consequent de facto assumption of a "first-among-equals" role by the Judiciary over the other two branches of the federal government. Such a role for the Judiciary was never intended by the Founding Fathers.

2018-09-03 — The return of nature worship. The road that animal/people equality leads directly to the degradation of the freedom and worth of the human being.

2018-08-27 — Lots of complaining about the ignorance of others, but not a single word of gratitude regarding how truly fortunate she is to have grown up in the USA — sad.

2018-08-24 — Very morally troubling that this company believes that "animals are just as important...as human babies," refers to getting a dog as a "major life change" by saying "instead of a human baby, it's a fur baby," and refers to getting an animal as "starting a family." Would the employees of this company first save the dog or the stranger?

The secular denial that human beings are created in God's image has led to humans increasingly being equated with animals. Belief in human-animal equivalence serves not so much to elevate animal worth as to reduce human worth.

It's worth noting that the Nazis, the cruelest group in modern history, were also the most pro-animal rights group prior to the contemporary period. They outlawed experimentation on animals and and legalized experimentation on human beings.

2018-08-20 — Democrats now view socialism more favorably than free markets. Unthinkable just 20 short years ago. The party continues its march ever-Leftward.

2018-08-03 — Pope Francis said this week that the death penalty is never admissible, and he has changed the Roman Catholic catechism. I responded to an L.A. Times reader on this issue here.

Update: Dennis Prager's take on this, which is excellent, can be found here.

2018-07-25 — Another reason we need the death penalty. Sad — and to think there are people out there who believe that people are basically good. Goodness, kindness, and decency have to be taught; they are not a birthright.

2018-07-18 — Fantastic interview of Dennis Prager by Ben Shapiro.

2018-07-17 — Today's my 27th army anniversary - 27 years ago today I enlisted. Here is Pat Buchanan's take on the Trump-Putin summit. Judging by the MSM meltdown, Buchanan is probably correct in his assessment.

2018-07-06 — Profoundly important decision from the Wisconsin State Supreme Court which totally vindicated Professor McAdams of Marquette University, after the University fired him for criticizing liberal reasoning — the professor was reinstated with full rank and benefits, awarded damages and back pay. This is a great day for conservative academics!

2018-07-06 — Seven Reasons It Is Deeply Misleading To Claim Americans Support Roe v. Wade.

2018-07-05 — Yet another example of the intolerance and violence inherent in Leftism. Great that Rumble and 4chan stepped up and did what was right. Hopefully the boy and his parents will press assault charges against this Left-wing thug. The only way to deal with thugs is to file charges when these crimes occur.

2018-06-30 — I've posted an article which compares the reaction of a man of the Left, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and the reaction of the Wall Street Journal and President (then President-elect) Donald Trump, to the death of Fidel Castro. The contrast is instructive. Which moral compass is broken? That of the Left or the Right? It's interesting that the Left calls Left-wing dictators, "President," but it calls Right-wing dictators, "Dictator."

2018-06-29 — Interesting article about human lifespan. In the Old Testament, Genesis 6:3 states, "And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years." According to the study, beyond age 105 the probability of completing the next year is roughly a coin flip. So the probability of reaching age 120 from age 105 is (0.5)^15=0.000061035 or 0.006% — in other words very tiny, and it's already very difficult to live to 105 to begin with. So the Lord's statement is true. Outside of the Biblical Patriarchs, the only verified person to have lived past 120 is Jeanne Calment of France who lived to be 122. The next oldest person is Sarah Knauss who lived to 119. So it certainly seems that while the article may be technically correct that there is theoretically no age limit — after all one could flip a coin and get heads 20 times in a row — the odds are so great that living beyond 120 is for all practical purposes impossible, thus confirming the accuracy of the Biblical account.

2018-06-29 — Congratulations to Alexandria Ocasio on her big primary win in New York's 14th district. She's already being touted by the MSM and others as the "new face of the Democrat Party" etc., yet her platform is, "we're young people and we want free stuff from the government!" As @elliotwhitter1 tweeted, "an idealistic and utterly impossible to afford platform."

2018-06-25 — Supreme Court throws out case against florist who refused to do arrangement for gay wedding. Vindicated once again — it's good to get it right.

Political correctness claims another victim. Her name is Laura Ingalls Wilder. The following quote attributed to George Orwell's 1984 is instructive: "Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right."

2018-06-24 — President Trump's proposal to deport illegals with no courts and no judges immediately forces the question of whether the Constitution grants rights to those illegally in the country. It does not; "We the People..." does not mean everyone in the world. It means citizens and those lawfully admitted as legal residents. The text, history and structure of the Constitution bear this out. Is the Left outraged because it may soon lose a significant voting bloc?

2018-06-22 — Charles Krauthammer, conservative commentator and Pulitzer Prize winner, dies at 68. We've lost an intellectual giant — Memory eternal and R.I.P.

2018-06-20 — Great compendium of media mistakes, lies, and distortions regarding President Trump. Thank you Sheryl Attkisson!

2018-06-18 — America the Horrible? Progressives say that the United States is racist and misogynist, but they still want everyone in the world to come here. Which is it?

2018-06-14 — Happy 72nd birthday to President Donald Trump!

2018-06-13 — Certainly a lot to unpack here but the question at issue is whether we are giving soldiers appropriate moral and theological instruction about what a just war is and why we fight wars in the first place. Are we teaching them what the larger Christian tradition says about the taking of human life? Some killing is moral; some killing is immoral. The commandment is "thou shalt not murder," not kill, and this has been been misunderstood terribly over the centuries because of mistranslation in the King James Bible.

2018-06-12 — President Trump makes solid progress on North Korea.

Outstanding PragerU video by Professor Jordan Peterson.

2018-06-06 — Happy 74th anniversary of D-DAY. Google and 4,000 of its employees believe that it is immoral to aid in the defense of one's country, and that all wars are immoral. Dennis hits the nail squarely on the head in his most recent column.

In other news, a secret Obama-era permit let Iran convert funds to U.S. dollars.

2018-06-04 — Facebook gave deep access to data on users and friends. Will be interesting to see what the consequences of this are. But I expect not much, unless the mob decides to boycott Facebook. If all of the legal agreements and contracts were above-board, then the only issue that I see is that third parties were able to "obtain data about a user's Facebook friends, even those who have denied Facebook permission to share information with any third parties." Even then, how do you quantify harm/damage done by unauthorized disclosure in accordance with otherwise legal agreements? This may of course be complicated by GDPR for users in Europe. But do GDPR controls apply to users in the United States?

2018-06-01 — Interesting article. This may spur me to write an article on all the ancient heresies. So much of what the Church was battling in the early days is also present in the modern era.

2018-06-01 — FBI announcment on home routers. Also kudos to Kim Kardashian on her meeting with President Trump regarding the lady imprisoned for drug offenses for exercising her rights as a citizen but more importantly, driving the MSM nuts. The media coverage of this is ridiculous. When Obama was president, pop icons who met with him were feted and glorified by the press. Now, a pop icon meets with Trump and the reaction is, "what the heck is SHE doing?" The Left is afraid, because for so long it has maintained a stranglehold on the culture. But Kanye West has defected, and Kim K. may not be far behind. Love 'em or hate 'em, Kanye and Kim have enormous fan bases and cultural influence. This is a disaster for the Left. In other news, will Samantha Bee be immediately fired from her job for the vulgar way in which she referred to the President's daughter, just as Roseanne Barr was for the racist way in which she referred to Valerie Jarrett? Or will we see yet another double standard? What would have been the MSM's reaction if a public figure on the right had used similar language about Obama's daughters?

2018-05-28 — Happy Memorial Day! Remember the Fallen.

This AP news article is written more to gin up class warfare, resentment and jealously than it is about highlighting so-called "pay inequality." There is no such thing as "pay inequality." There is a reason CEOs are paid more.

2018-05-27 — RIP and Godspeed, Alan Bean.

2018-05-27 — In bad taste? Absolutely. The implied moral equivalence between a murdering animal and legitimate authorities — by allowing the player to choose either — makes the game morally problematic. Society doesn't believe in "good guys" and "bad guys" anymore; if you give space to the good you must also give equal space to the bad. Of course, this never benefits the good but only the bad.

2018-05-26 — Maybe the NoKo summit is still on? Who knows?

2018-05-25 — Closed my Amazon account because of the way Amazon treated the Alliance Defending Freedom, a noted conservative legal group which has argued and won many cases before the United States Supreme Court. The only way to fight big tech's left-wing bias is not to use big tech's services. When Amazon reverses its position regarding ADF and stops using the left-wing Southern Poverty Law Center to vet other organizations, I will consider re-opening my account.

2018-05-25 — Just canceled my Disqus account due to new agreements required under GDPR — tired of it, period. Here is a ridiculous quote:
"Facebook has even blocked accounts of users who have not given consent. In the end, users only had the choice to delete the account or hit the "agree" button — that's not a free choice, it more reminds of a North Korean election process," Max Schrems, the chair of noyb.eu, said.
I am not sure what this dude is smoking, but he's comparing big tech to North Korea and asserting that everything should be provided free to everyone — loser!

2081-05-24 — Enjoying a beautiful day off. Today, President Trump cancelled the summit with North Korea.

2018-05-23 — If a conservative had made the comment "shoot to kill" in reference to President Obama can you imagine the outrage that would have ensued? Remember the outrage on the Left when Sarah Palin made her famous "bull's eye" comment referring to districts on a political map? The Left despises Donald Trump and uses their hatred as a license to shame others into living by rules they themselves don't live by.

2018-05-22 — Dennis Prager on why the Left won't call anyone animals — good read.

2018-05-22 — Media acknowledges it fell for Hamas propaganda during press coverage of Jerusalem embassy opening and attendant Palestinian border incursion into Israel.

2018-05-21 — And now for a really bad cat limerick...
I once met a lady named Greer,
Whose cat drank a ton o' beer.
It ran around tipsy
Got into the nip see —
Then flew off in a jet it called Lear.

2018-05-20 — Al Sadr's party elected in Iraq. This is the same guy we were fighting a while back. He led the insurgency against U.S. forces. Will be interesting to see what happens now that his party is in power. Also curious to see MBS reaction to this.

2018-05-19 — If there is to be a Venezuela, Maduro must lose.

2018-05-19 — Top secret FBI/CIA informer Stefan Halper is the man the FBI used to illegally spy on President Trump's campaign according to this report. — Disgraceful! Apparently, this isn't the first time he's been up for this sort of thing.

2018-05-19 — The Orwellian prospect of Google's Selfish Ledger. The moral and ethical implications of this are quite problematic.

2018-05-18 — Happy to report I am OFF social media! No Facebook, no Google, no Twitter. Goodbye, and good riddens! Update: and Disqus!

2018-05-18 — Obama's FBI spied on the Trump campaign. They used the intelligence apparatus of the United States against American citizens with whom they disagreed politically. This is as @realDonaldTrump says, bigger than Watergate. The question is does anyone care?

2018-05-17 — If people like @MZHemingway, @seanhannity, @SaraCarterDC, and @GreggJarrett weren't doing the work they do, would the @nytimes ever have published this article?
